The new research project “Effort and Social Inequality – Advancing Measurement and Understanding Parental Origin Effects” (EFFORT) has officially started on 1 March 2018. The project is funded by a Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC) awarded to the project leader Jonas Radl. During five years, this interdisciplinary project will investigate how social differences in effort emerge and contribute to the reproduction of inequalities across the generations. The project is hosted by the Carlos III Juan March Institute (IC3JM) in Madrid. Moreover, there is a satellite research group based at WZB Social Science Center Berlin, and a collaboration with the Department of Basic Psychology II of UNED.
