Appointed as WZB Visiting Research Professor

I am very pleased to remain affiliated to WZB Berlin Social Science Center. After completing the EFFORT project and the end of the related research group, the WZB Academic Council unanimously approved the proposal to appoint me as Visiting Research Professor for the next 3 years. The professorship will keep carrying the name “Effort and Social Inequality” as its primary purpose is to complete the research agenda started with the ERC project. I am thrilled to continue being part of this amazing academic community.

ERC Recognition Event

I was very pleased to participate at the first Spanish ERC Recognition Event,  organized by the Ministry of Science and Innovation on the evening of the 16th of November  2023 at the Escuela Técnica Superior Ingenieros Industriales of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

It was a very nice social event with cocktail for  ERC Principal Investigators, blessed with the presence of ERC President Maria Leptin and Secretary General of Research Raquel Yotti from the Spanish Ministry of Science.

I was honoured to be asked to say a few words about my experience as an ERC grant holder and the significance of the program for European science. It was a truly special occasion to be surrounded by so many bright minds. Thank you to the organizers at the Ministry and FECYT.

Best Poster Award at LIVES Conference 2023

I am thrilled that our new paper entitled “The impact of parental health shocks on well-being and development in early adulthood: Evidence from Germany” has won the LIVES Best Poster Award. This work is a collaboration with my WZB colleagues Alessandro Ferrara and Jan Paul Heisig. Alessandro presented the poster at the conference that took place in Lausanne on November 9-10, 2023. The award is a nice recognition of his great performance. Here you can have a glance at the poster itself. Many thanks to the conference organizers Daniel Oesch and Clémentine Rossier!
