Research Associate (7 ½ months), at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
We seek applications for a research associate position to provide support for the research activities headed by Professor Jonas Radl (Department of Social Sciences). Recently, his work has been centered in the EFFORT and PERSIST projects. Rooted in the social stratification tradition within quantitative sociology, Jonas Radl’s research often embraces an interdisciplinary perspective, including intersections with applied economics, demography, educational psychology, and gerontology. The research associate will be invited to participate in the academic life of the Department of Social Sciences and the Institute Carlos III Juan March, located on the UC3M Getafe campus.
Job characteristics
- Working time: 25 hours per week
- Salary: 1,600 EUR (gross monthly wage)
- Duration: 1 September 2024 – 15 April 2025
Tasks
- Data cleaning and processing, data analysis and visualization
- Assistance in the preparation of manuscripts to be published in international scientific journals
- Assistance in the writing of grant proposals
- Support of further academic activities, such as organizing workshops and writing reports
Qualifications
- a Master degree in sociology or another relevant social science
(to be completed before September 2024) - excellent academic record
- advanced statistical training, analytical skills and experience with data analysis
- fluency in written and spoken English (C1 level)
- good academic writing skills
- fluency in Spanish is desirable but not essential
